  • This is Rosie crawling on my hand. The handler holds the hand of the person so they don't jerk it and knock Rosie off.
  • This is Rosie crawling on my wife's hand . . .
  • . . . she apparently liked it there because she had to be coaxed to keep moving
  • This is what the underside of a Tarantula looks like.

  • Jellyfish. Next time I will take a movie of their rhythmic and mesmerizing motion.
  • The glass was pretty thick, so these are not the best of pictures.
  • This is a Horseshoe Crab. Enough said.
  • There are a number of reasons why I will be returning to the place, one of them being the display cases with hundreds of butterflies from all over the world. All are beautifully, if gruesomely, mounted, and labelled.
  • We made the mistake of getting there around noon . . .
  • I could have easily spent all day there, happily shooting away at these beauties.
  • Eventually I tore myself away from the display cases and entered the tropical room. <br /> <br /> It took 15 min before condensation stopped building on every lens and the camera. This was the first picture I was able to snap, and the softness you see is due to the glass still fogging up.
  • But eventually I was able to shoot at will.
  • And shoot I did.
