• We arrived in San Leon and brought rain with us.
• That made the view from the deck kind of special; it gave the place an ethereal fell to it, probably because of the blurring of the sea-sky interface.
• This was more the typical day . . . sunny and hot.

Take note of the house next door. Specifically the siding. Notice the peppering of pelican droppings.

Everything gets peppered as they cruise up and down the shoreline.
• That's Galveston island across the bay. We did not have a chance to go, but we had been before.
• The bay has a number of wells on it. This one is a gas well.
• From the doc, looking South. A mixture of old and rebuilt piers.
• What the water looks like from the end of the pier looking South.
• From the pier, looking North. More old and rebuilt piers.
• The water looking North. You can see a small group of pelicans heading South along the shoreline.
• Looking back toward the house from the end of the pier.
• It seems like a long way out there.
• Most of the piers are new because of hurricane Ike. It wiped this area out, destroying nearly all the homes.
• Most of the pictures are from the second stories deck. You did not really want to be out in the sun a whole lot, so the deck was perfect place to shoot from.
• The first day . . . three pelicans showing the various position of the wings when flying.
• I have a fascination with piers.
• The setting of this one was particularly nice.
• Especially when framed by the palm trees.
• A different perspective
• You can see the wood is relatively new. It has not weathered yet..
• There are remnants of old piers. The birds seem to like that.
